Leather journal,
handmade paper, hand bound:
too precious for words
:flame: What do you get when you combine irony with a bromide? In this case, an actual senryū! How's that for a reaction? #literarypun #chemistrypun

The inspiration for this is an item I've had in my possession for close to ten years now. Some casual friends, knowing my love of writing, had gifted me with a pocket-sized handcrafted journal they'd brought back from their visit to India.

In terms of actual monetary worth, it's probably not all that much. But its value as a unique (to me) and inspirational item is incalculable. So until and unless I finally decide to undertake that late-life wanderjahr, I honestly can't come up with anything precious enough to match its potential and fill its pages, making it a literal representation of what would otherwise be a trite cliché.

So instead, it languishes in the back of my sock drawer, protected from the elements by nothing more than the sandwich-sized zip-top bag it came in. Quelle ironie du sort!

 And for those still scratching their heads, "too precious for words" is a banality which is often used (and quite often overused) to describe infants and kittens. Now you know.
